Things to do
Please go to the Visit WS site for a full list attractions, restaurants and hotel accommodations, as well as a current calendar of events.
Old Salem – As one of America’s most comprehensive history attractions, the Historic Town of Salem, the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts (MESDA), and the Gardens at Old Salem engage visitors in an educational and memorable historical experience.
Reynolda Gardens – Discover the 1917 estate of R. J. and Katharine Reynolds, including the Reynolda House Museum of American Art, Reynolda Gardens and Reynolda Village shops and restaurants.
Tanglewood Park – Home of miles of walking, running and BMX trails along with two championship golf courses, Tanglewood Park sits just outside the Western edge of the city.
Salem Lake – A 365-acre lake with a 7-mile gravel path that runs around its perimeter. Perfect for gravel bikes or mountain bikes, as well as fishing, canoeing and kayaking.
Quarry Park – 200 acres of park surround the cliffs around our deep blue quarry lake. The paved walking trail goes around the lake and surrounding area and connects to both the Waughton and Peachtree greenways.
Yadkin Valley Wine Country – Yes, we have wineries! The Yadkin Valley AVA is now home to more than 60 different wineries, all within an hour of Winston-Salem (some within just 15 minutes)!
